Iran Claims 200 U.S. Soldiers Killed in Operation Nasr 2
Iran's Revolutionary Guard spokesperson General Hossein Mahabi said Iranian forces had killed more than 200 U.S. soldiers during the two‑week Operation Nasr 2, describing U.S. casualty figures as false. He claimed attacks hit eight U.S. installations, destroyed 20 shelters, and downed eleven U.S. warplanes and helicopters, including an F‑15, a P‑8 maritime patrol aircraft, a C‑17 transport and several aerial refuelers, as well as 17 drones.
Mahabi made the statements while U.S. airstrikes on Iran continued, which Tehran labels war crimes. He warned that any renewed Israeli involvement would bring severe repercussions. No independent verification of the casualty claims has been provided.
The assertion comes amid heightened tensions between Iran, the United States and, indirectly, Israel.
