Iran attacks US bases in Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain with drones

Iran’s army and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said they carried out coordinated drone and missile strikes against U.S. facilities in the region. The attacks targeted the Al‑Azraq air base in Jordan, the Mina Abdullah logistics centre and Ali Al‑Salem air base in Kuwait, and the Sheikh Isa base in Bahrain. Kuwait’s armed forces reported intercepting missiles and drones over its airspace, stating “any explosion heard is the result of interception by air‑defence systems,” and said there were no casualties. Bahrain sounded civil‑defence sirens, and Jordan also intercepted three ballistic missiles aimed at a U.S.‑linked base. The United States responded with renewed airstrikes on Iranian targets and reinstated a naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, threatening to keep the waterway closed. President Donald Trump warned that, without a return to negotiations, the U.S. would target Iranian power plants and bridges. No immediate civilian injuries or damage have been confirmed, but the escalation raises concerns over oil‑flow disruptions and broader regional security.
