Iran claims Middle East nations can no longer rely on US security

Esmayl Baghaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Middle Eastern nations can no longer rely on United States security guarantees as they have in the past. Baghaei argued that Israeli military actions in Lebanon, Palestine, and Syria, alongside threats to other regional countries, demonstrate that US involvement has contributed to regional insecurity rather than stability.

Baghaei noted that the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip has led regional actors to conclude that certain entities pose the greatest threat to international stability. He emphasized that regional security is indivisible and suggested that true stability requires identifying actual threats rather than relying on foreign actors.

Referring to a recent trilateral defense agreement signed in Mecca by Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, Baghaei suggested that regional nations are recognizing that security cannot be purchased. He reiterated Iran's policy of encouraging regional cooperation and strengthening internal security without dependence on external powers.
