Iran Declares Bushehr Airport Inoperable After US Strikes as Talks Pause

Iranian officials said the Bushehr airport in the south of the country is completely out of service after recent United States attacks, stating that the facility requires a full reconstruction from the ground up. A newly acquired aircraft was destroyed by a missile, leaving only a small part of the tail intact, and the Bushehr meteorological centre was also heavily damaged.

The U.S. bombing campaign, which included strikes on a train station and bridges, has led to a temporary cessation of hostilities. Iranian leaders argue they can endure continued pressure and maintain leverage over the Strait of Hormuz, indicating no urgency to resume negotiations with Washington. Tehran has offered to halt further attacks provided the United States maintains its pause, while U.S. President Donald Trump warned the suspension could end if talks stall.
