Iran defends peace MoU with United States
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that Iran entered the recent peace memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the United States with ‘dignity’ and ‘power.’ Speaking at a meeting with Education Minister Alireza Kazemi, Pezeshkian defended the June 18 agreement intended to end regional warfare, asserting that the deal was reached through careful deliberation and expert discussion without surrendering to enemies.
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf also characterized the MoU as a victory for Iran’s diplomatic efforts. Under the terms of the agreement, both nations were scheduled to hold negotiations within a 60-day window ending on Monday to reach a final settlement. However, the future of these talks remains uncertain due to recent escalations between the two countries.
