Iran deploys pilgrim caravans in Ilam and Kurdistan for Arbaeen

The Ilam Province Martyrs Foundation has operated a "Salam Shahid" caravan that provided a range of services to more than 2,300 veterans and other pilgrims in the Mehran camps. The caravan offered 24‑hour hospitality, medical assistance, cultural items, wheelchair repairs, and organised spiritual programs such as "visiting on behalf of the martyrs".

In Kurdistan Province, about 30 caravans have been prepared along the Sanandaj–Marivan route to the Bashmaq border. They deliver free accommodation, meals, health care, transport, guidance, communication facilities, and currency‑exchange services. Parking is provided, and coordination with Iraqi Kurdistan ensures free onward travel from Bashmaq to Sulaymaniyah and onward to Najaf. The effort aims to ease the journey for the large number of Arbaeen pilgrims using this border crossing.
