Iran Endures Record Heat and Strong Wind Alerts

Meteorological forecasts warn that a persistent high‑pressure ridge will keep much of Iran under extreme summer heat through the end of July. Temperatures of 48‑50 °C are expected in Khuzestan, Bushehr, southern Ilam, western Hormozgan and parts of southern Kerman, while central provinces such as Yazd, Isfahan, Semnan and Qom may see 40‑44 °C. No cooling system is projected to arrive before the month ends, raising concerns about increased water and electricity consumption and heightened heat stress.

Separately, the Tehran provincial weather authority has issued a yellow wind warning for the capital area from the night of 28 July to the evening of 30 July. Strong to very strong gusts are forecast for southern, western and some central districts, with possible damage to temporary structures, dust storms and reduced visibility. Officials advise caution for road travel, securing scaffolding and signage, avoiding high‑altitude activities, and reinforcing greenhouse covers.

Both alerts aim to prepare residents for the anticipated weather hazards and mitigate potential injuries or property damage.
