Iran escalates tensions with U.S. amid maritime attacks

Iran is escalating its military and political posture amid the upcoming U.S. midterm elections. Tehran has increased missile strikes and recently announced attacks against ten vessels attempting to transit the Strait of Hormuz.

Despite the loss of several leaders and the fact that new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has yet to make a public appearance, the Iranian leadership appears committed to confronting the United States.
