Iran executes protesters following January uprising

Iran has carried out executions of individuals detained during the January 2026 protests. The judiciary reported the execution of Siavash Jamshidi Kheirabadi, who was accused of firing shots at police in Shahrekord and organizing anti-security activities. Additionally, Ali Hemmati and Majid Nik-Andish were executed in Mashhad for their alleged roles as leaders during protests in the Tabarsi area.

In response to these executions, the PMOI Resistance Units reported a wave of coordinated acts of defiance across multiple Iranian cities, including Tehran, Mashhad, Karaj, and Bushehr. These actions reportedly targeted regime symbols, propaganda installations, and security centers. Reported incidents include an attack on a police command center in Hamidiyeh using gunfire, the use of a Molotov cocktail against a Basij base in Tehran, and the setting of a Basij facility on fire in Karaj.
