Iran extends public sector working hours through September

Iran's Vice President, Alaeddin Rafieizadeh, has announced the extension of modified working hours for government employees through the end of Shahrivar (September). This decision follows previous directives and is aimed at optimizing energy consumption and maintaining the stability of the national electricity grid.

Under the current schedule, working hours for executive agencies, banks, municipalities, and public institutions are set from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Operational service units, including universities, research centers, and healthcare facilities, will continue to follow their existing schedules as previously approved by the Cabinet.

To support energy management, all executive agencies are required to turn off cooling systems one hour before the end of the workday, or immediately upon conclusion in tropical regions. Additionally, municipalities have been instructed to adjust public transportation planning to accommodate these modified working hours.
