Iran extends school transport registration deadline to September 22
The registration deadline for school transportation services via the Sepand system has been extended until September 22 (31 Shahrivar) to accommodate remaining applicants. According to Masoud Kazemi, CEO of the Urban Passenger Transport Union of Iran, approximately 225,000 students have registered so far.
To ensure safety and oversight, 1,150 transportation companies have been verified by municipalities and approved to operate within the system. Kazemi emphasized that using any platform other than the official Sepand system is a violation of current regulations.
Authorized vehicles must possess valid technical inspections, third-party insurance, and essential safety equipment, including seatbelts, fire extinguishers, and first aid kits. Parents are advised that using unauthorized services is considered a violation and carries legal consequences, while the Sepand system provides a dedicated portal for reporting complaints and violations.
