Iran human rights report details 60 executions and widespread arrests

Human rights reports indicate a significant escalation of rights violations in Iran during the month of Mordad. According to data from Human Rights in Iran, at least 60 executions were carried out, including three women and one child. The report also noted 112 arrests related to freedom of thought and expression, alongside numerous sentences involving imprisonment, exile, fines, and corporal punishment.

In a specific case, Iman Rashidi, a member of the Baha'i community, was transferred to Yazd Central Prison to serve a sentence of 3 years, 6 months, and 1 day. Rashidi was convicted of charges including ‘propaganda against the regime through deviant activities’ and ‘acting against national security.’

Additional reported violations include 90 instances of prisoner rights abuses, such as deaths in custody, suicides, physical assaults, and denial of medical care or legal counsel. The Ministry of Intelligence also reported the arrest of 21 citizens in Kerman province on allegations of cooperating with Israeli intelligence.
