Iran issues flood warnings for eight provinces
An orange weather warning has been issued for several provinces in Iran due to intensifying precipitation systems. Officials warn of potential flooding in seasonal rivers across eight provinces during Tuesday and Wednesday.
Expected severe weather includes heavy rain showers, thunderstorms, and temporary strong winds. Affected regions include Gilan, Mazandaran, Golestan, northern and western North Khorasan, northern West Azerbaijan, parts of East Azerbaijan, Ardabil, and the highlands of Semnan. On Wednesday, similar conditions are expected in Golestan, western and northern North Khorasan, Semnan highlands, Mazandaran slopes, and eastern Gilan.
The National Organization for Crisis Management has advised citizens to avoid traveling near riverbeds, floodplains, and bridges. Nomadic groups are urged to stay away from seasonal rivers, and mountaineers are advised to avoid climbing in high-altitude areas to prevent accidents from lightning and potential floods. Additionally, wind activity may cause dust storms in certain western, southern, and central regions, potentially reducing air quality.
