Iran issues orange flood warning for ten provinces
Iran's Meteorological Organization and the Crisis Management Authority have issued an orange‑level flood warning covering ten provinces. The alert, numbered 35, applies to heavy rain, thunderstorms, strong gusts and dust storms expected on 30 and 31 July. On 30 July the affected areas include northern and eastern Khorasan North, Khorasan Razavi and the eastern slopes of Mazandaran. On 31 July the risk extends to the highlands of Zanjan, Qazvin, Alborz, Tehran, Semnan, Mazandaran, eastern Gilan and western Golestan.
Potential hazards listed are flash floods, river overflow, road‑way flooding, landslides, falling rocks, damage to temporary structures and crops. Authorities advise avoiding travel near riverbanks and streams, refraining from recreational hiking or mountaineering, limiting construction activity, and preparing rescue, road‑clearing and bridge‑opening teams. Local officials are urged to convene crisis‑response meetings and implement preventative measures immediately.
