Iran issues sentences in roughly 2,000 protest‑related cases in Hamedan province

Iran’s Human Rights Center reported that, months after the nationwide protests of December 2024, the judiciary in Hamedan province has issued verdicts in about two thousand cases linked to the demonstrations. The provincial chief justice said the rulings target those labelled “security disruptors” and confirmed that additional cases related to the recent war are still under review. The organization also highlighted concerns over the health of 61‑year‑old prisoner Abdolhossein Farhan, who has been detained since early 2025 and is held in Ahvaz’s Shiban prison.

Human‑rights groups have warned that the continuing wave of judicial actions represents a broader crackdown on civil liberties following the December suppression of protests.
