Iran issues weather warnings for heavy rain and flooding across multiple provinces
The National Center for Prediction and Crisis Management has issued weather warnings for multiple provinces in Iran, forecasting heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds. An orange-level alert has been issued for seven provinces, including Gilan, Mazandaran, Golestan, North Khorasan, and parts of Semnan, with risks of flooding, overflowing rivers, and landslides expected between Saturday and Sunday.
Broader forecasts indicate precipitation and lightning across 16 provinces, including Kurdistan, Kermanshah, Zanjan, Ardabil, West and East Azerbaijan, Qazvin, Markazi, and parts of Tehran and Alborz. Additional weather activity is expected in the southeast and southern regions, including Kerman and Hormozgan, over the coming days. Authorities have advised citizens to avoid unnecessary travel, stay away from riverbeds, and urge farmers to expedite crop harvesting to mitigate potential damage from storms and flooding.
