Iran Ministry of Education expands AI training and nomadic school access
Iran's Ministry of Education is implementing several initiatives to modernize and equalize the national schooling system. One major focus is the digital empowerment of educators, with approximately 210,000 teachers from non-governmental schools having completed artificial intelligence training. This program, consisting of 36 hours of online, offline, and in-person instruction, aims to transition teachers from mere technology consumers to creative users capable of fostering critical thinking and problem-solving in students.
Simultaneously, the Ministry is working to improve educational access for nomadic populations. Currently, over 211,000 nomadic students are enrolled in schools across the country. Officials have emphasized the expansion of boarding schools, particularly to support the continued education of nomadic girls, and the integration of technical and vocational training to provide diverse career paths. The Ministry's priorities include improving educational equipment, talent identification, and ensuring that geographic location does not hinder access to quality learning.
