Iran missile strikes on US bases intensify Middle East tensions

Iran launched a series of missile attacks against U.S. military facilities in the Middle East, targeting a fuel support pier in Kuwait, an air base in Bahrain, and reportedly striking sites in Jordan and Iran’s own provinces. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned that any use of its territory for attacks on Iran would invite "corresponding responses" and signaled that it would move beyond proportional retaliation if U.S. strikes continue.

The United States responded with a seventh consecutive night of airstrikes, hitting Iranian surveillance sites, logistics infrastructure, underground weapons storage, and maritime assets. Iranian state media reported three deaths and eight injuries from the U.S. strikes.

The escalation pushed global oil prices higher, with Brent crude nearing $90 a barrel and analysts cautioning that sustained conflict could lift prices above $100 per barrel, reflecting fears of supply disruptions in a region that supplies a large share of world oil.
