Iran negotiator says war with US will not end by Iran's surrender

Iran's chief negotiator Mohammad Bagher Galibaf told Washington that the conflict with the United States "will never end with Iran's surrender." He made the remark during ongoing talks, reiterating that ending the war remains a global priority but cannot be achieved by Iran giving up.

The United States has accused Iran of recent attacks on three vessels in the strategic Strait of Hormuz, prompting retaliatory strikes that caused Iranian casualties. In response, Tehran targeted U.S. regional partners, including Kuwait—where at least one person was injured—Bahrain, Jordan and Qatar, which has been mediating the dispute.

Iran and the U.S. signed a protocol on 17 June to halt hostilities that erupted on 28 February after a U.S.-Israeli attack on Tehran. Both sides now claim the other has violated the agreement. Egypt and Qatar have called on the United States and Iran to resume negotiations, with their foreign ministers urging all parties to pursue diplomacy and dialogue.
