Iran implements fuel management strategies to address energy imbalances

Iran is implementing several strategies to address fuel imbalances and energy security. To meet rising gasoline demand, authorities are considering blending methanol with gasoline. While officials suggest a 3% to 5% methanol concentration can improve octane levels and combustion, experts have raised concerns regarding potential engine corrosion and environmental impacts.

The government is also shifting from a supply-oriented approach to demand management. This includes adjusting gasoline pricing tiers and promoting alternative fuels like CNG to reduce reliance on gasoline. Additionally, the National Iranian Gas Company is prioritizing network stability and maintenance to prepare for peak winter consumption.

In the oil sector, the National Iranian Oil Company reports that exports increased by approximately 10% despite regional conflicts. To further bolster the industry, over 200 investment opportunities have been introduced, including the establishment of a 300-million-euro currency guarantee fund to support private sector participation in upstream projects.
