Iran Parliament Deputy Announces Timeline for Unpaid Social Security Pensions

Deputy Ali Jafari Azar, vice‑chair of the parliament's Social Affairs Commission, said the outstanding salary differences for pensioners from April and May must be paid together with the June pension. If the June payment does not occur, the arrears will be settled no later than the August disbursement.

He confirmed that the agreed 30 % adjustment will be applied this year, as in previous years, to bring pension levels toward 90 % of workers' wages. He also noted that requests for additional benefits such as housing allowance, child allowance, and marriage assistance cannot be met because the Social Security Organization lacks sufficient resources and a legal basis.

Sessions with the Labor, Cooperation and Social Welfare Minister and other officials have been held, and the parliament will continue to follow up on the pension issue.
