Iran permits two-month travel for free zone vehicles

The head of the Police Traffic Numbering Center has announced that vehicles from Iran's free zones are permitted to travel throughout the country for a maximum of two months per year. To facilitate this, owners can obtain temporary transit plates, provided they comply with technical and engineering regulations.

Specific conditions apply to different regions. While travel for vehicles from Kish and Qeshm was authorized until the end of September, the expiration for vehicles from Chabahar requires local inquiry. Certain categories, such as American racing cars and other restricted vehicles, are exempt from these regulations.

Additionally, authorities are working on a plan to transfer traffic scheme debts to the previous owner's national ID. This measure aims to prevent new owners from inheriting unpaid traffic fines from prior owners.
