Iran prepares for new academic year with massive student enrollment
Iran is preparing for the upcoming academic year with significant updates regarding university and school enrollment. The Ministry of Science, Research and Technology announced that over 750,000 new students will enter universities across various levels, including 14,000 doctoral students, 136,000 master's students, and approximately 600,000 undergraduate and associate degree students.
In a policy shift, university education for the 1405-1406 academic year will be in-person, though institutions may request electronic learning options under special circumstances through provincial management working groups.
At the primary school level, the Ministry of Education has rescheduled the ‘Blossom Festival’ for first-grade students to September 21. Approximately 1,154,000 first-graders are expected to participate, reflecting a decrease from the previous year. Additionally, 97 percent of registration for intermediate grades has been completed.
To support underprivileged students, the Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation in Khuzestan has launched the ‘Jashn-e Atefeha’ campaign. The initiative aims to provide 90,000 complete educational packages, including stationery, bags, and clothing, to students in need.
