Iran President Condemns US Coastal Attacks, Warns of Retaliation

On 14 July 2026 Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian posted on X expressing solidarity with the people of southern Iran after United States forces carried out attacks on coastal areas, including drone strikes on a submarine‑maintenance facility at Bandar Abbas and a map marking the Strait of Hormuz as a target. He described the southern population as loyal and resilient in the face of what he called enemy aggression.

Former IRGC commander Hossein Kanani Moghaddam told the Iranian outlet Fararu that Tehran could strike US President Donald Trump even at the White House if political will allowed, warning that such a move could spark a broader war and raise oil prices. The remarks came amid the latest exchange of threats between Washington and Tehran, indicating a sharp rise in rhetoric.
