Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stated that Iran will not compromise on its conditions to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, despite a recent proposal intended to end maritime hostilities.

On behalf of Tehran, Araghchi presented a seven-day roadmap to mediators, including Qatar and Pakistan. The plan proposes restoring normal maritime transit by the sixth day, provided the United States implements several measures during the first five days. These requirements include a Middle East ceasefire, the lifting of the U.S. naval blockade, the removal of oil sanctions, and the release of frozen Iranian assets.

U.S. President Donald Trump rejected the proposal, stating that the agreement would not be acceptable. Trump asserted that the United States maintains “total control” over the strait and noted that significant quantities of oil continue to flow through the passage daily.

In a separate development, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Navy reported the capture of a U.S. Remus 600 autonomous underwater vehicle in the Strait of Hormuz, which has been handed over to specialists for data recovery.
