Iran Rebuilds Bombed Nuclear Sites at Parchin and Pickaxe Mountain

Satellite images released by CNN and private firms show Iran conducting reconstruction work at the Parchin military complex and the Pickaxe Mountain uranium enrichment site. The imagery from June and July displays concrete mixers, mesh, and new sealing of cratered areas that were heavily damaged by coordinated U.S. and Israeli airstrikes in late February.

Analysts with the Institute for Science and International Security describe the activity as a “significant and new” effort to restore capabilities that were lost, noting that the reconstruction directly breaches the Memorandum of Understanding that obliges Iran to maintain the status quo of its nuclear program. The renewed construction suggests Tehran intends to revive its nuclear capacity despite diplomatic promises, raising concerns among international observers and intelligence agencies.
