Iran-Related Attack Plans Halted by US and Tehran

U.S. President Donald Trump announced on August 2 that a planned large‑scale strike on Iran was called off after Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar asked the United States to pause the operation. Former IRGC commander Mohsen Rezaei later said Iran had completed preparations for a ballistic‑missile attack on three targets in Ukraine, but the operation was aborted. He gave no details on the intended sites or timing. The statement came amid heightened tensions after a Ukrainian strike on an Iranian vessel in the Caspian Sea, with Tehran warning of a right to respond.
