Iran students return to school amid ongoing US-Iran conflict
More than 16 million students in Iran have returned to schools and universities following months of closures caused by a conflict that began on February 28, 2026. The war, involving coordinated strikes by the United States and Israel, has significantly impacted the region and the daily lives of Iranian citizens.
One of the most severe incidents occurred in Minab, where a strike on a primary school resulted in the deaths of between 120 and 156 people, including approximately 120 children. As the academic year commenced, Hossein Afshin, Iran’s vice president for science and technology, performed a traditional bell-ringing ceremony at a primary school in Minab.
Amidst the reopening, Resistance Units reported 50 revolutionary activities across various cities, including Tehran, Isfahan, and Mashhad. These actions, which included the distribution of leaflets and posters, called for uprising and freedom. Additionally, the United States and Iran have held their first diplomatic talks since June to address the ongoing situation.
