Iran reports executions in Khuzestan and continued detentions
Human rights reports indicate several developments regarding detainees and prisoners in Iran. In Khuzestan province, two executions were carried out: Seyyed Sadegh Mousavi was executed at Sepidar Prison in Ahvaz for a premeditated murder charge, and Emad Mirdorghi was executed at Fajr Prison in Dezful. Mirdorghi had been detained approximately ten years ago following a robbery in which an elderly woman died of a stroke.
In Ahvaz, Seyyed Ali Mousavi has been transferred to Shiban Prison to serve the remainder of a six-year sentence. He was originally sentenced to 15 years by the Ahvaz Revolutionary Court on charges including acting against national security and membership in opposition groups, though his sentence was later reduced on appeal.
Additionally, three citizens from Asemanabad—Younes Bakri, Yasir Hawasizadeh, and Rouhollah Gholami—remain in custody. Recent broadcasts on Ilam provincial television featured video confessions from the detainees and displayed weapons and ammunition allegedly seized by the IRGC, though the conditions under which these confessions were obtained and the direct link between the individuals and the seized items remain unverified.
