Iran reports mass arrests and sentencing of protesters
Human rights organizations report a wave of arrests and judicial actions across Iran following nationwide protests. In Qazvin, the Ministry of Intelligence announced the detention of at least 39 citizens accused of leading protests, organizing unrest, and involvement in the deaths of security personnel during the winter of 1404.
In other regions, several individuals face significant legal consequences. In Isfahan, 22-year-old Ilya Bin-Rashid was sentenced to over four years in prison and a two-year travel ban. In Khorramabad, social media activist Amin Dehestani was transferred to prison following a two-year sentence for propaganda against the regime. In Ahvaz, teacher and civil activist Siamak Sadeghi Chahrazi has been summoned to the Revolutionary Court to face charges including propaganda against the system and insulting religious figures.
Additionally, a social media activist in Rudsar was detained for allegedly insulting martyrs and disturbing public opinion. Amidst these developments, reports indicate deteriorating conditions in prisons, including a teacher in Jiroft, Hadi Jalali, who is reportedly being denied access to necessary medication.
