Iran sees coordinated explosions after US announces new attack wave

On Friday morning, a series of synchronized explosions rattled several Iranian cities and coastal islands, including Jask, Bandar Abbas, Khenarak, Ahvaz, Amidiyeh, Andimeshk, and the southern coast of Qeshm Island. The blasts caused electric power outages across parts of Khuzestan and the Hormozgan port area.

The United States Central Command issued a statement saying it had begun a "new wave of strikes against Iranian military targets," without specifying the locations or scale of the operations. Iranian state media reported hearing the detonations in at least seven spots within Ahvaz alone and noted heavy fighter‑jet activity over Qeshm.

Iranian officials, including the deputy governor of Khuzestan, said the attacks appeared to be missile‑type strikes targeting the Amidiyeh and Andimeshk areas. The IRGC warned that any foreign base used for such attacks would become a legitimate target for Iranian forces, even alleging that a U.S. launch site in the United Kingdom was involved.

Details on casualties or material damage have not yet been released, and Tehran is awaiting a formal response on the incident.
