Iran strikes US military bases in Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Oman and Qatar

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched a coordinated wave of missile and drone attacks on U.S. military facilities across the Gulf. Targets included the Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain, the Prince Hassan Air Base in Jordan, U.S. missile sites in Kuwait, long‑range radar and ship‑detection systems in Oman, and the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar. Tehran said the strikes were retaliation for recent U.S. air raids on Iranian territory and warned it would abandon the cease‑fire agreement signed in June if Washington does not honor its commitments. The IRGC stated, “Each time the other side fails to keep its obligations, we will not keep ours.”

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that its recent strikes had hit dozens of Iranian air‑defence, radar and missile sites, and that it had deployed fighter aircraft, naval vessels and one‑way drones to degrade Iran’s ability to threaten shipping. The renewed fighting has heightened tensions over the Strait of Hormuz, where Iran has threatened to close the waterway, causing a dip in commercial traffic and pushing Brent crude up more than 4 %. Regional allies Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan confirmed they intercepted hostile aerial targets and sounded civil‑defence sirens. The escalation deepens the risk to global oil markets and raises concerns about a broader regional conflict.
