Iran Hit by Unclaimed Airstrikes After U.S. Offensive Ends

U.S. Central Command announced on Thursday that it had concluded a round of strikes against Iran, reporting about 90 targets hit across the country. Shortly thereafter, a series of unclaimed airstrikes struck southern Iran, hitting locations in Bushehr, Sistan‑Baluchestan, Ahvaz and the strategic port of Chabahar. The Iranian theocracy has not blamed any party, though a lawmaker warned the United Arab Emirates that it would “pay the price” for alleged support to the United States.

In response, Iran launched missile attacks on U.S. and coalition facilities in Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait and Qatar, triggering air‑raid sirens and injuring one person in Kuwait. Iranian parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said the conflict would not end with Iran’s surrender and warned that the United States, NATO and Israel had failed to force capitulation.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump declared the cease‑fire agreement with Tehran “ended,” describing Iran as “scum” and threatening further action. The dispute centers on control of the Strait of Hormuz, a chokepoint through which roughly one‑fifth of global oil and gas passes, raising concerns for international energy markets.
