Iran to pursue peace via US MoU if trust is built
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that Tehran will continue to pursue a path of peace based on the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the United States, provided that Washington fosters an environment of trust.
During a press conference, Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran's commitment to the MoU will be contingent upon U.S. compliance. He noted that Iran will align its obligations with the level of adherence shown by the U.S. and warned that Tehran would not accept the use of force by the other party.
Pezeshkian clarified that final decisions regarding Iran's actions would rest with Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei. Additionally, he dismissed recent rumors regarding his resignation, affirming his commitment to continue his presidency and defending the government's decision to engage in negotiations to end conflict.
