Iran university entrance exam results delayed until early October

The head of Iran’s National Organization for Educational Testing, Reza Mohammadi, announced that the initial results of the national university entrance exams (Konkur) are expected to be released in early October. This delay is attributed to a holdup in receiving academic records from the Ministry of Education.

Mohammadi noted that the completion of associate and non-continuous bachelor's degree exams marks the end of the five-stage higher education entrance process. The associate degree exams involved 137,000 applicants across 96 cities, while the non-continuous bachelor's exams saw competition from over 43,000 candidates.

Separately, Iran’s Minister of Education expressed concern regarding the increasing frequency of school closures. The minister cited various factors, including air pollution, energy imbalances, diseases, and wartime conditions, as primary drivers for these disruptions. The ministry is reportedly seeking to revise decision-making processes regarding closures to mitigate the impact on educational continuity and social equity.
