Iran-US Accord Signed to End Lebanon War, Foreign Minister Abbas Arakçi Says

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakçi said that the United States and Iran have reached a final agreement, which will be formally signed soon. The accord is intended to end ongoing hostilities on all fronts, including the conflict in Lebanon, and to lift the Israeli (referred to as "sionist") occupation there. Arakçi explained that the negotiations will be divided into two phases: an initial phase focused on ending the war, releasing blocked Iranian funds and reopening the Strait of Hormuz, followed by a second 60‑day phase dealing with nuclear issues and sanctions removal. He warned that any further Israeli military action against Lebanon would be deemed a violation of the agreement.

The United States has indicated that the deal was digitally signed by senior officials, and a formal signing ceremony is expected in Switzerland. Arakçi thanked Pakistan and Qatar for their mediation roles and emphasized that the cessation of hostilities in Lebanon is a prerequisite for ending Iran’s broader conflict.
