Iran warns Bulgaria against cooperating with U.S. military operations

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued direct warnings to Bulgaria, stating that any cooperation or facilitation with the United States regarding potential military operations against Iran will be viewed as a hostile act. Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei asserted that Iran maintains the legal right under international law to strike the source of any aggression and will not show leniency toward countries providing territory or infrastructure to the U.S. military.

Addressing regional security, Baghaei officially denied reports that Tehran had received an invitation to join the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement, a defense pact signed by Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan. While he clarified that no formal invitation has been received, he noted that discussions regarding collective regional security have taken place. Baghaei added that Tehran does not currently see evidence that the alliance is directed against Iran.

In related diplomatic developments, Oman's Foreign Minister, Sayid Badr Al-Busaidi, is scheduled to visit Tehran to meet with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. The meeting aims to coordinate actions between the two coastal states regarding security in the Strait of Hormuz.
