Iran warns Gulf nations against assisting US military
Iran's Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Ali Abdollahi, has issued a warning to Gulf nations, stating that providing any assistance or facilities to the United States military will be viewed as participation in US military operations against Iran.
Abdollahi expressed skepticism regarding claims from regional countries that they would not allow US military use of their territory, noting that Iran is fully aware of the significant presence of US military aircraft, including refueling planes, at regional bases. This warning coincides with the redeployment of the aircraft carrier USS George Washington to West Asia to replace the USS Abraham Lincoln.
Tensions in the region have escalated following a conflict that began on February 28 after US-Israel strikes on Iran. In a related development, the United Arab Emirates announced the suspension of all economic affairs with Iran following allegations of ballistic missile activity near Abu Dhabi.
