Iran warns of offensive war and claims control over Strait of Hormuz

Mohammad Mokhber, a senior adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, has warned that regional conflict will enter an offensive phase if Tehran’s conditions are not met. Mokhber stated that such an escalation would fundamentally transform global power equations. He argued that the inability of the United States to protect its Gulf allies demonstrates the limits of American security guarantees, suggesting that a new regional order should rely on the Hormuz economic-security mechanism rather than Washington’s military presence.

In tandem with these warnings, Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters rejected United States claims regarding the freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, labeling them “baseless lies.” Military spokespersons asserted that the strait remains under Iranian control and that no vessel can transit safely without Iranian permission and supervision. The Iranian military emphasized that it is monitoring regional movements and is prepared to respond to any threats to national sovereignty with severe measures.
