Iran warns U.S. of severe retaliation following Trump's UN remarks

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued warnings to the United States following remarks made by President Donald Trump at the United Nations General Assembly. Trump stated that Iran must choose between reaching a deal or facing destruction, emphasizing that his primary objective is to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. He expressed hope for a peace agreement following the 2026 midterm elections.

In response, IRGC spokesperson Hossein Mohibbi accused the United States of violating previous agreements and announced that Iran has tightened its negotiating conditions. A new demand includes the lifting of the blockade on Yemen, a topic not included in prior discussions. Mohibbi warned that if the U.S. carries out any attacks, Iran will not merely retaliate but will take an offensive position, potentially leading to unprecedented consequences for Washington.

Iranian military leadership also cautioned that Tehran would respond with “more severe, destructive, and unexpected strikes” if provoked. Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqir Qalibaf added that Iran will not surrender or cease its activities under American pressure.
