Iran warns U.S. of targeting economic interests if blockades continue

Rezaei, Secretary General of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, has issued a warning to the United States regarding economic pressures and maritime blockades. Speaking to Al-Manar television, Rezaei stated that if blockades continue, Iran will target United States economic interests with “great violence and power.”

Rezaei linked the full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to the United States meeting specific Iranian conditions, primarily the cessation of wars in West Asia, including conflicts in Lebanon and Gaza. While a temporary route for vessel passage through the center of the strait is currently permitted, Rezaei noted that future maritime traffic would depend on an agreement with Washington.

Regarding energy security, Rezaei claimed that Iran's oil sales have returned to pre-sanction levels through the use of floating storage and the development of new, expanding export routes.

Additionally, Rezaei dismissed allegations regarding a planned attack on Barron Trump, labeling such claims as lies spread by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to intimidate the U.S. President and influence decision-making processes.
