Iran weather warnings issued for heavy rain and strong winds
The Iran Meteorological Organization has issued several weather warnings across various provinces, forecasting heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds. An orange-level alert has been issued for Golestan highlands and northeastern Semnan, warning of potential flash floods, river overflows, transport disruptions, and lightning strikes.
Meteorologists predict a new wave of autumn precipitation will move through western Iran starting Thursday, affecting provinces such as Kurdistan, Kermanshah, Hamadan, Lorestan, and Zanjan. Additionally, heavy rain and temporary flooding are possible in West Azerbaijan, specifically in areas like Maku and Khoy.
Temperatures are expected to decline gradually toward the end of the week, with a noticeable cooling effect in Tehran. Warnings have also been issued for wind gusts and seasonal instability in Hormozgan, Sistan and Baluchestan, and the Zagros mountain ranges, advising nomadic tribes and travelers to exercise caution.
