Iran weather warnings issued for extreme heat and storms
The Iran Meteorological Organization has issued orange-level warnings for various regions due to extreme weather conditions. Severe heat is expected to persist in the southern and eastern parts of the country.
Simultaneously, atmospheric instability will bring rain showers, thunderstorms, and temporary strong winds to northern, northwestern, and parts of the Zagros mountain ranges. Specific areas under alert include the highlands of Semnan and Golestan, where there is a risk of flash floods, overflowing seasonal rivers, and damage to agricultural products.
In the next five days, strong winds and dust storms are forecasted across eastern, northeastern, southeastern, central, western, and southwestern regions, which may lead to reduced air quality. Additionally, rough seas are expected in the Caspian Sea and the Gulf of Oman. Authorities advise avoiding riverbanks, minimizing unnecessary travel in mountainous areas, and preparing for potential transport disruptions.
