Iran weather warnings issued for heavy rain and strong winds

The Iran Meteorological Organization has issued warnings for heavy rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds across multiple provinces. A new weather system is expected to arrive starting Friday afternoon, bringing increased cloud cover, temperature drops, and precipitation to northwestern regions and the Caspian Sea coasts.

Heavy rain and thunderstorms are forecasted for several provinces, including East and West Azerbaijan, Ardabil, Gilan, Mazandaran, Golestan, and parts of Sistan and Baluchestan, Kerman, and Hormozgan through Sunday. Authorities have warned of potential risks such as rising river levels, flooding, lightning, landslides in mountainous areas, and damage to agricultural products and temporary structures.

Additionally, strong winds are expected to affect seven provinces, including South Khorasan, Sistan and Baluchestan, Khuzestan, and Ilam. These winds may cause dust storms, reduced horizontal visibility, and decreased air quality. Residents are advised to exercise caution during travel, mountain climbing, and agricultural activities.
