Iranian advisors reportedly involved in Houthi military operations in Yemen

Reports indicate an escalation in Iranian involvement in Yemen, with Iranian advisors allegedly participating in the planning and management of Houthi military operations. According to reports from Alhurra and Associated Press, advisors from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps have been involved in tactical coordination, communication analysis, and satellite imagery interpretation during recent battles in the West Coast and Bab al-Mandab regions.

These developments coincide with Houthi advances in strategic areas, including Al Mukha and various islands overlooking the Bab al-Mandab strait. Former Houthi spokesperson Ali al-Bukhaiti noted that recent battles represent a shift in the nature of Iranian support, suggesting the involvement of both Iranian leaders and Hezbollah in operational execution.

In response to these developments, Yemeni Interior Minister Ibrahim Ali Haidan stated that the Houthi control over strategic coastal areas has significantly complicated the mission of the Coast Guard in monitoring territorial waters and combating smuggling. Haidan characterized the conflict as a confrontation against an expansionist Iranian project and emphasized the need to unify all military and security forces under the state's Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Interior to ensure a decisive defeat of the militia.
