Iranian clerics demand Trump and Netanyahu assassinations
Iran’s powerful Assembly of Experts, a 88‑member body that selects the country’s supreme leader, released a 10‑point statement calling for the assassination of US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The declaration described Trump as “the criminal American president” and Netanyahu as “the wicked prime minister of the Zionist regime,” urging believers to “send them to hell” as a religious duty. The clerics said the demand was retaliation for the killing of former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, which they claim resulted from a US‑Israeli strike. The statement also warned that ongoing cease‑fire negotiations were a delay tactic and urged supporters to march “in the name of the leader.”
U.S. Vice President JD Vance referenced Trump’s willingness to use force against Iran, while Netanyahu said Israel would strike Iran again if necessary. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has meanwhile reiterated Iran’s pursuit of nuclear deterrence amid fragile U.S.–Iran talks.
