Iranian drones claim heavy damage to US bases in Erbil amid school bombing controversy

Iran’s military spokesperson Mohammad Akraminia said Iran’s new attack drones have devastated almost all US‑military infrastructure at bases in Erbil, Iraq. He listed the destruction of 17 reconnaissance drones, one F‑15 fighter, a P‑8 patrol plane, a C‑17 transport, eight refuelling aircraft and other assets, claiming the bases have lost most operational capability. Akraminia warned Tehran will continue operations until the United States recognises it cannot impose its will on Iran.

Earlier US airstrikes in Iran killed more than 120 children at the Shajareh Tayyebeh girls’ school. Forensic investigations confirmed the presence of US‑made Tomahawk missile fragments, but President Donald Trump cast doubt on the authenticity of the photos, suggesting they could be AI‑fabricated. Amnesty International and other groups have called for full transparency and accountability for the attack.
