Iranian Parliament issues 15-day ultimatum for war damage reconstruction bill

The Iranian Parliament has issued a 15-day ultimatum to the government to submit a formal bill for the reconstruction of industrial and manufacturing units damaged during the war. Ali Nikzad, the first Deputy Speaker of the Parliament, stated that if the government fails to present this legislation within the deadline, the Parliament will move forward with its own reconstruction plan.

Reports indicate that approximately 3,396 industrial and manufacturing enterprises have been affected by the conflict. While the National Reconstruction Headquarters is involved, officials noted that previously allocated funds have not yet reached the damaged units in a widespread manner.

To finance the recovery, several potential funding sources were identified, including budget provisions from 2025 and 2026, the issuance of Islamic financial bonds, and funds from unspent executive agency resources. The initiative follows instructions to amend the Seventh Development Plan to include specific provisions for modernization, war damage reconstruction, and production growth.
