Iranian political figures criticize Mojtaba Khamenei after loss of Ali al-Tahir

Supporters of Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf have launched sharp criticisms against Mojtaba Khamenei on social media following the loss of the strategic Ali al-Tahir heights in southern Lebanon to Israel.

Critics on the X platform have characterized the current political direction as a “delusion of power” and a series of strategic miscalculations. Commentators noted that the seizure of the Ali al-Tahir tunnels and hills—which housed significant Hezbollah military assets—occurred following the signing of a unilateral ceasefire agreement.

Additional grievances cited by these figures include the failure to close the Strait of Hormuz and the recent surge in the US dollar exchange rate, suggesting that the breach of previous understandings has tightened the maritime blockade around Iran.
