Iranian security officials warn of psychological warfare and border unrest

Iranian security officials have issued warnings regarding external efforts to create instability and psychological warfare within the country.

Ghasem Rezaei, Deputy Commander of the Iranian Law Enforcement Force, stated that enemies have long attempted to incite unrest and division in Kurdish-populated regions. He emphasized that the vigilance of the local population has historically neutralized these attempts to create a rift between the people and the state. Rezaei also noted that any attempts by the United States or other powers to use proxy groups to create insecurity would face resistance from the Iranian people.

Separately, Brigadier General Mohammad Ekrami-nia, spokesperson for the Iranian Army, warned of an intensified focus on media and psychological warfare. He noted that because traditional military threats have failed to achieve their goals, adversaries are now utilizing media tools to spread doubt, skepticism, and hopelessness to undermine social capital and public trust. He called for intellectuals and media professionals to engage in 'clarification jihad' to provide accurate narratives and counter enemy propaganda.
